I acknowledge "the rest," and I happen to agree that progress has broken down somehow.

I just point out that some people blame an abstraction called "socialism" for economic outcomes they don't like, even if these outcomes arose spontaneously from human action but not necessarily through human design. Scapegoating other tribes, like the forwarded post's call for a bloodbath of its author's imagined malefactors. . .
