For an object only a few meters across, with an advance notice
of hours, the astronomical community isn't doing too badly with
observing it, especially those people and places who/which
have no mandate (i.e. funding) to observe such objects.
Reports are coming in regarding a sonic boom over Africa.

However, after googling a bit, the only atmospheric entry
(bolide) images I could find of the asteroid is from the SLOOH
observatory (Tenerife) in the Canary Islands.
