   Edward Burtynsky's astounding photographs are only part of the story
   tonight.  He will explore the idea first introduced 32,000 years ago,
   when the cave painters in France began the practice of using art to
   communicate across millennia.  What is our cave painting?

     "The 10,000-year Gallery," Edward Burtynsky, Cowell Theater, Fort
     Mason, San Francisco, 7pm, TONIGHT, July 23.  The talk starts
     promptly at 7:30pm.  Admission is free (a $10 donation is always
     welcome, not required).

   As usual when we are at the Cowell Theater, there will be a reception
   just around the corner at the Long Now Museum & Store after the talk.

   Tonight's talk is one of a monthly series of Seminars About Long-term
   Thinking (SALT) organized by The Long Now Foundation.
