The next 25 years in tech.(Company overview).
PC Magazine 27.1-2 (Jan 2008): p73 ff.
In January 1982, from a spare bedroom in a San Francisco home, our
magazine was born. The brainchild of our first editor-in-chief, David
Bunnell, PC Magazine launched just five months after the debut of the
first IBM personal computer--the 4.77-MHz Intel 8088, which ignited the
personal computer industry. From our humble beginnings we grew in pace
with an industry that was transforming our lives, becoming a major force
of the global economy, and generating billionaires and an untold number of
small businesses. In the third quarter of last year alone, some 67 million
computers were sold worldwide.
