I'm doing a course in Heuristic Optimization (Simulated Annealing, 
Genetic Algorithms, Tabu Search, Evolutionary Programming) and it's 
pretty amazing what Moore's law (effectively) has done to the area. 
Satisfiability[1] problems that were considered impossible in the 1990s 
is now a 1 credit project (!) for the course.
