Greetings, I hope you all don't mind a somewhat naive question. I'm a science writer who volunteered to search the Internet for nanotech information to help out a screen writer. He is working on a plot of a spy movie that involves a nanotechnology (or better, maybe, microtechnology) robot that goes into a body. This is rather beyond my expertise.

That said, he has asked: what devices are there in this area that people are working on, what breakthroughs in the last year, what are the leading institutions and who are the leading researchers. He also is looking for some kind indication of the kind of money that is being spent on nanotechnology and who is funding it, and speculations where nanotechnology is going to be in the future.

Finally, I haven't found anything on the Net other than this newsgroup and a gopher reference to the Crandell and Lewis(?) book. Are there any Web or gopher sites on nanotech, any listservs? I know I couldn't find a FAQ (or I wouldn't have posted this message!).

Who knows? *I* might learn enough to do a story on nanotech!!

Thanks in advance,
Larry Krumenaker
